Fun Facts About Georgia
Coca-Cola was first sold in Atlanta in 1886 after pharmacist John Pemberton created the original drink. One soda fountain experiment eventually turned into a beverage recognized nearly everywhere.
Georgia produces more peanuts than any other state, which makes the giant peanut sitting beside the interstate in Ashburn feel less random and more like agricultural bragging rights.
Savannah was founded in 1733 and is the oldest city in Georgia. Its historic squares, Spanish moss, and long collection of ghost stories have been doing most of the atmosphere work ever since.
The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge covers more than 400,000 acres and protects one of the world’s largest intact freshwater ecosystems. It is also home to enough alligators to make wandering away from the marked trail feel like a terrible creative choice.
Georgia delivers roadside weird in full force with giant peanuts, Sasquatch evidence, enormous chickens, unusual museums, and a mountain where you can allegedly see seven states at once. World’s Largest Peanut — giant peanut monument celebrating Georgia’s peanut farming heritage. Coordinates: 31.70638, -83.63536.
Blue Ridge
Expedition Bigfoot — The Sasquatch Museum – Thousands of square feet devoted to Bigfoot exhibits, footprint casts, sighting maps, research equipment, and cryptid evidence.
Marietta
World’s Largest Chicken — A 56-foot-tall chicken towering over the KFC at 12 Cobb Pkwy N — it predates the KFC (it was Johnny Reb’s Chick-Chuck-‘N’-Shake first; the chicken is a coincidence). The eyes move, the beak opens, and locals have been giving directions based on it for decades.

Atlanta
World of Coca-Cola 🚌 — Coca-Cola history, advertising memorabilia, the alleged secret-formula vault, and a tasting room containing beverages from around the world.
Cleveland
BabyLand General Hospital 🚌 — The birthplace of Cabbage Patch Kids, complete with nurseries, adoption paperwork, and live doll births beneath the Magic Crystal Tree.

Rock City Gardens — Mountain trails, unusual rock formations, gardens, and the famous overlook where visitors are told they can see seven states.
