Savannah was founded in 1733 and is the oldest city in Georgia. Its historic squares, Spanish moss, and long collection of ghost stories have been doing most of the atmosphere work ever since.
The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge covers more than 400,000 acres and protects one of the world’s largest intact freshwater ecosystems. It is also home to enough alligators to make wandering away from the marked trail feel like a terrible creative choice.
